Sandbox was proud to sponsor Thailand’s Global Game Jam 2018; the team headed to Rangsit University to catch all the action, and here’s what happened.
The world’s largest game creation event, Global Game Jam took place at locations worldwide over the last weekend of January, with registered jammers? designing, building and creating games based on a secret theme in just 48 hours.
Sandbox’s Head of Studio, Zac gave a speech to kick off the event, urging jammers to use not only their technical skills, but their personal knowledge and preferences in gaming to express themselves and distinguish their creation.
Besides handing out top tips, Team Sandbox provided a chill-out corner for jammers to relax, hang out and try out a number of the studio’s recent AR releases.
With more than 175 jammers registered, Rangsit University’s Sky Cyber Lounge was packed all weekend and the creativity was palpable. Sandbox developer, Tomek came second in the competition with his team’s game based on the weekend’s theme of a transmission.
